A specialist in physical acting and dramatic conflict, Kevin Inouye has over two decade’s experience with stage and screen combat and prop weaponry, as well as a variety of martial arts and theatrical styles. He holds Teacher Certification and Theatrical Firearms Safety Instructor rank with the Society of American Fight Directors, is a Certified Teacher with the National Michael Chekhov Association, Instructor Level II with Margolis Method International, Assistant Faculty with Theatrical Intimacy Education, has an MFA in Theatre Pedagogy, SAG-AFTRA union actor and stunt performer membership, is sole proprietor of a prop weapons rental business, and is an award-winning fight choreographer. He continues to teach acting, movement, and stage combat at schools, theatres, and workshops across North America. He has previously served as Assistant Professor of Movement, Acting, & Stage Combat at Case Western Reserve University and the CWRU/Cleveland Playhouse MFA Acting Program, Assistant Professor of Acting, Movement, & Stage Combat at the University of Wyoming, and taught courses at the College of William & Mary, Christopher Newport University, and Virginia Commonwealth University.
In addition to the Theatrical Firearms Handbook and the Screen Combat Handbook with Focal Press, Kevin wrote a chapter in Physical Dramaturgy (Routledge, 2018) and has contributed journal articles for The Fight Master, Student Filmmakers Magazine and other publications.
